- 1.Premium 1095 High Carbon Steel Material
We adopt high-purity 1095 high carbon tool steel, a premium material widely recognized in swordsmithing, with uniform carbon distribution and excellent metallographic structure. After repeated precision forging, internal impurities are completely removed, and the steel grain is tightly compacted, laying a solid foundation for subsequent heat treatment, ensuring the blade has excellent wear resistance and durability, far superior to ordinary steel blades.2.Traditional Handmade Clay Tempering Process
This is the most critical and sophisticated step in sword making. Our senior smiths apply specially formulated refractory clay evenly and precisely on the blade spine and non-cutting edge parts, only leaving the blade edge exposed. Then the blade is heated to an accurate high temperature in a professional forge, followed by rapid quenching in water. The clay layer slows down the cooling speed of the blade body, making it maintain excellent toughness, not easy to bend or break under impact. The exposed blade edge cools down instantly, achieving a high hardness of over 60 HRC, creating an extremely sharp cutting edge that can easily cut through objects.3.Unique Natural Hamon Pattern
The temperature difference during quenching creates a unique, natural hamon (temper line) on the blade surface. Each temper line is formed naturally by the change of heat, with smooth lines and distinct layers, no two blades have exactly the same pattern. This is the most intuitive symbol of authentic clay tempering, not only adding unique aesthetic charm to the blade, but also recording the ingenuity and meticulous craftsmanship of the smith.4.Perfect Balance of Hardness and Toughness
Unlike ordinary single heat treatment, T10 steel clay tempering skillfully balances hardness and toughness. The blade body is tough and resistant to impact, while the edge is hard and sharp, solving the defect of high carbon steel being brittle and easy to chip. It is not only suitable for collection and appreciation, but also can meet actual use needs, becoming a high-quality sword with both practicality and collection value.
