1. Material Selection
Select high-carbon steel and low-carbon steel raw materials with different carbon content. Match steel materials reasonably to lay the foundation for forming beautiful layered patterns and balanced sword performance.

2. Material Stacking & Cleaning
Cut steel into uniform steel blocks, polish all joint surfaces to remove rust, oil and impurities. Stack different steels alternately and fix firmly.

3. High-temperature Welding
Spread borax on the joints to prevent oxidation, put stacked steel into charcoal furnace, heat to high welding temperature until each layer is completely bonded.

4. Repeated Folding Forging
Take out the hot steel billet, hammer flat and fold it continuously. Repeatedly heat, stretch and fold dozens of times. More folding times bring denser texture and clearer natural patterns.

5. Sword Body Forming
Forge the folded pattern steel billet into standard Chinese sword shape, forge out sword ridge, blade edge, sword tip and sword shoulder, correct straightness to avoid distortion.

6. Annealing Softening
Put the rough-shaped sword blank into the furnace for slow cooling annealing, release internal stress, soften the sword body, convenient for later grinding and trimming.

7. Clay Coating Heat Treatment & Quenching
Coat quenching clay on the sword body and sword back, keep the blade edge thin. Heat evenly and perform water quenching. Make the edge hard and sharp, sword body tough and shock-resistant.

8. Low-temperature Tempering
Temper the quenched sword at constant low temperature, eliminate steel brittleness, stabilize hardness, prevent edge chipping and sword breaking during use.

9. Pattern Showing & Polishing
Use different grit abrasive tools for coarse grinding, medium grinding and fine grinding step by step. Polish the sword body to fully show unique folded layered patterns.

10. Fine Trimming & Edge Opening
Trim details such as sword mouth and sword groove, polish smoothly, grind out sharp practical blade edge, ensure smooth cutting.

11. Surface Anti-rust Treatment
Carry out professional anti-rust maintenance treatment on the polished sword body, enhance oxidation resistance and extend service life.

12. Fitting Assembly & Finishing
Install sword fittings, wooden handle, fixed bolts and matched scabbard, adjust tightly, finish overall fine trimming, and the folded pattern steel Chinese sword is completed.
